Twenty-nine years ago, at 1:23 am (local time Ukraine) on April 26, 1986, operators botched a safety test at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, resulting in the world's worst nuclear disaster to date. Today, trees grow in a school evacuated following the accident. Nature is slowly dismantling the ghost town of Pripyat, thriving among the abandoned homes and buildings, in stark contrast to the fear-plagued lives of the people who survived the catastrophe.
