Celebrate Purim With Me in This Week's Cross Thread

Hello Whitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Tay, ODeck, Backtalk, Oppo, and Clashtalk and welcome to the weekly cross kinja open thread. Today is the Jewish holiday of Purim, which is a minor holiday where people get to dress up in customs and listen to the story of Esther saving the Jews from her husband's decree to kill 'em.

Purim is also a holiday where you're supposed to give money to feed the poor, so the assembly line lego is an homage to one of my favorite organizations 'cause they pack boxes of food (usually for the week) that they deliver (often anonymously) to the homes of people who need 'em. What are some of your favorite aspects of some of your more obscure holidays? Or even the less obscure ones?

ETA: Also, please let me know if you'd like to host the cross thread anytime soon.
