Photo taken by @stevemccurryofficial // I photographed this Hindu priest conducting a prayer ceremony in the evening in Karnataka. These simple prayer ceremonies can be held as often as one to five times per day. An aarti is sung and incense lit by the priest which is often accompanied by the ringing of a bell, known to invoke the Gods. Once the ceremony is complete, the devotees often cover the flames with their hands and raise their hands to their head so the blessings are passed on.
