Photo by @TomasVH. A boy dressed like Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte looks through binoculars over the Waterloo battlefield from on top of the Lion's Mound in Waterloo, Belgium. Napoleon's historic loss to the the Duke of Wellington on this day 200-years ago meant the surrounding territory would not be part of France. Instead, a buffer state comprised of French and Dutch-speakers emerged into present-day Belgium.
