Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz A cave on the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea is lined with a thick layer of salt crystals and stalactites from the splashing of wind-driven wave . The water in the Dead Sea is some of the saltiest in the world, with seven times the salt content of the sea. To get this view, I poked my head down through a hole in the back of the cave at sunset and watched as a solitary drop of salty water to fell to the surface.
