Gueckedou is a transit and commerce hub for communities in Guinea's forest region. Most rural communities in this part of the country rely on agriculture for survival; farming rice, bananas, coffee, Palm oil and other crops for consumption and sale. On any given morning, one sees large numbers of people hauling their goods to market in Gueckedou. The #Ebola epidemic, which originated in southern Guinea in late 2013, has caused ongoing border closures with nearby #SierraLeone and #Liberia, a measure that has put serious strain on local economies. #Africa, #western, #west, #commerce, #economy, #instadaily, #photooftheday, #photojournalism #travel
