Photo @coryrichards Mingun Pagoda, Myanmar. Monks walk around the back side of what was originally designed to be the largest Pagoda in the world at 153 meters. Prophecy told the reigning king that as soon as the temple was completed his Dynasty would end and thus it was never finished. The temple was built entirely by slave labor and has no interior, only facades. An earthquake later inflicted the damage and cracks seen in the image. @stevemccurryofficial tools similar image decades ago during the monsoon. Looking to him for inspiration, I shot this with a drone, trying to get a new take on an old masterpiece. Shot on assignment for @natgeo on the #MyanmarClimb expedition, going see to summit to measure SE Asia's highest point. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative @renan_ozturk
