@marcusbleasdale Valentine 15, was abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in July 2009 when she was just 13 and held for seven months. She was taken directly to LRA’s leader Joseph Kony and was forced to be one of his many “wives”. She escaped and lay naked in a field for two days and nights hiding from the rebels as they searched for her. This image was used in the Human Rights Watch multimedia feature “Dear Obama: A Message from Victims of the LRA”, which was presented to President Barack Obama in 2010. IMPACT is an exhibition focusing on the collaboration between photography and advocacy. @humanrightswatch has been using photography for many years to increase the power of the message and increase the IMPACT of the work of the researchers in the field. This collaboration has led to some extraordinary results and we would like to celebrate those achievements in this exhibition at #Christies in London this week @thephotographersgallery @natgeo #humanrightshumanwrongs
