"These lionesses crossed a deep channel with their 6 cubs but two spooked and turned back, separating the pride. The lionesses swam the channel multiple times, braving crocodiles and hippos but the cubs refused to budge. At sunset they had no choice but to leave the two to their own devices and leave with the other four on the opposite bank. We found the cubs at dawn after what must have been a long, miserable night - shivering , wet and anxiously staring at the opposite bank. They had managed to stay hidden from hyaenas. Suddenly they went frantic and we saw the lionesses silently entering the water on the opposite bank. These incredible mothers were back and hopefully the two cubs would now finally follow them across the channel to safety..." #lions #bigcats #causeanuproar #womenofvision #wov #selindasaga
