Two lionesses attempted to cross a deep, treacherous channel to go hunting. They have six small cubs and while four of them managed to cross safely, two spooked and turned back, separating the pride. The lionesses have been swimming back and forth all day to try and coax the two reluctant cubs across, braving hippos and crocodiles on each crossing. The cubs have refused to move and with the sun setting the exhausted lionesses must be resigned to leaving them for the night. They swim back to the other four, pressed closely together to give the impression of a bigger animal. The two cubs will have to fend for themselves this night and hide from hyaenas. We can only hope that the lionesses return in the morning. #lions #bigcats #causeanuproar #womenofvision #wov
