Photograph by @paulnicklen // A Kermode Bear, also known as a Spirit Bear sits peacefully among the towering trees of the Great Bear Rainforest, BC. He is waiting for the next wave of pink salmon to enter the river where he will feast to build fat reserves for winter hibernation. I got to finally meet this large male bear after waiting for many weeks over two seasons while on assignment for @natgeo.
