Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) - Now that the snows have all gone the Tennengebirge range in the Austrian Alps is shedding its winter cloak. Although it's one of the wettest places in Austria, its plateau region resembles a desert during the summer. Due to an extreme degree of karstification all the water immediately disappears underground into caves and re-emerges in rivers in the valley bottoms.
