Greenlandic hunters are famous for their ability to navigate thin ice as they hunt throughout the winter. Naimannhiisoq Kristiansen and I were standing on sea ice that had just formed the night before during a -27c cold snap. As he was testing his surroundings with his harpoon we could feel the elasticity of the sea ice bending under our feet. We could not remain in one spot for more than a few seconds.
