Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) - A cave explorer ascends Titan shaft, the deepest natural shaft in the UK. In the 1770’s when nearby miners mined lead ore from inside Speedwell Cavern they must have passed below Titans great boulder pile, unaware of what giant void lay directly above them. It wasn’t until on New Years Day, 1999 when Titan was first discovered by local cave explorers, and it’s entire spender was illuminated for the very first time having been formed and sculptured in total darkness.
