A snail has laid a clutch of eggs in a pitcher of a Vellose Pitcher plant (Nepenthes villosa) at more then 3000 meters elevation on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah/ Borneo. The mountain climate is harsh: massive and frequent rain storms interchange with periods of intense sun shine. With its reliable moisture, and protection from direct exposure to sunlight, the pitcher offers a perfect spot for the snail's eggs to develop.
