Photo taken by @christianziegler in the Green Swamp Preserve /North Carolina, a protected area managed by @nature_org (The Nature Conservancy) A damselfly caught on a leaf of the carnivorous Oblong-leaved sundew (Drosera intermedia), one of three principal types of carnivorous plants (pitcher plants, venus fly trap and sundews) that can all be found in the remaining bits of Long-Leafed Pine forest along the East Coast of the US. Reduced to 5 % of its original area, this beautiful forest type, along with many of its inhabitants, face serious conservation challenges. Part of a story that I am posting in more detail on @christianziegler @thephotosociety @iLCP_photographers @natgeocreative #pitcherplant
