The Lance research vessel photographed from the air. This is my home for 4 weeks, frozen into the ice on the edge of the Arctic Ocean. I'm joining 18 scientists from 10 countries, who will be using the Norwegian ship as a floating laboratory to study the Arctic sea ice. It's no secret that sea ice is both reducing in cover and thinning in the summer period, these scientists will be looking at the changes in wider context -how does the sea ice interact with the atmosphere and ocean currents? @nickcobbing on assignment for @natgeo magazine with @oceanseaiceNPI
