Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz / @thephotosociety. Low tide reveals the decaying hulls of the Staten Island Boat Graveyard. Located on the Arthur Kill waterway that separates Rossville from New Jersey. It's an accidental museum of New York maritime history, as boats rot while waiting to be picked over by an adjacent salvage yard. At the top are the remains of a 1914 car ferry retired from service in 1963, when the Newburgh–Beacon Bridge crossing the Hudson opened.
