There are approximately 6,000 Ugandan troops serving in the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM)--which has a total of 22,000 uniformed personnel. Mogadishu-based troops are stationed at the airport compound, a sprawling Green Zone that houses United Nations agencies, AMISOM command and an array of contractors who run the facilities. The city of Mogadishu remains insecure due to the ongoing Al-Shabab insurgency. #Africa #IndianOcean #conflict
