Like many #African capitals, Abidjan has a significant disparity of wealth within the city. My last post from Ivorian capital showed the highly developed superhighways of Le Plateau, the city's main business district, where residents and visitors dine and sleep in five-star establishments. Here, by contrast, we see neighborhoods with unpaved streets, uncollected garbage and structures built in a basic fashion. Such wide #economic gaps are a source of social instability and political grievance in many countries across the continent. #Africa #wealth #development
