Taken while on assignment for @natgeo photographing a story on Canada's #Yukon Territory in an effort to help protect the #Peel #Watershed from the current mining frenzy that is taking place in this pristine part of the world. This roadside view, more than any other, took my breath away. In the fall, as temperatures start to fall, the tundra turns into a sea of red. With a good pair of hiking boots this view can easily be trumped. This is #Tombstone Territorial Park. Right next door is the Peel Watershed and it remains under threat to proposed mining activities. Once mining roads are punched into this backcountry, it opens it up to roadside hunting of bears, wolves, dall’s sheep, caribou and other important species to these ecosystems.
