Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz The Flatiron Building has a way of taking over every photograph it appears in. Cutting diagonally across Manhattan, Broadway creates two wedges every time it intersects an avenue. No architect was able to take better advantage of these wedges than Daniel Burnham, who was among the first to use steel-frame construction in New York City. When completed in 1902, it was one of the city’s tallest buildings. For more views of New York from above go to @NewYorkAirBook #skyscraper #NewYorkCity #Manhattan #swoosh #notadrone
