Photo taken by @christianziegler in #Brunei. Hardwicke's Woolly Bat (Kerivoula hardwickii hardwickii) is a bat which uses the pitchers of Nepenthes hemsleyana as a day roost. Being protected from rain and predators is important for bats. In this mutualistic relationship, the plant offers ‘housing’ in exchange for nutrients in form of the bat’s droppings. Part of a story which I am posting in more detail on @christianziegler. @thephotosociety @iLCP_photographers #rainforest #conservation # jungle #ecology #bat
