Photo taken by @stevemccurryofficial // Goggles and a scarf barely shield this worker in Mumbai, India, from the choking dust and smoke of this ship breaking yard in Mumbai, India. This man stared directly into my camera for a few seconds before resuming his dangerous work. Vessels from around the world end up in ship-breaking yards to be broken down into scrap. The workers reduce these colossal ships to tons of material which is then sold. It is a dirty and extremely dangerous job. Workers are exposed to lead, asbestos, and other dangerous toxins.
