Photo by @TimLaman on assignment with NatGeo Expeditions in Antarctica. A blowing and lunging Fin Whale on a windy day off Elephant Island. As the wind blew 45 knots, we watched from our ship as literally dozens of Fin Whales, the second largest whale species in the world (after the Blue), fed on krill in these rich waters. Fin whales are easily recognized by the color of their lower jaw, which is white only on the right side. #whale, #Antarctica, @thephotosociety, @natgeocreative, see more shots from this expedition @TimLaman.
