Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) - Miao Keng in China, one of the worlds deepest unbroken natural shafts at 509m (1670ft) deep was not even known about less than a decade ago. The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (once the tallest building in the world) would easily fit inside this cave. Tackling such an obstacle in a cave is so time consuming and challenging. It takes on average 2 hours to abseil down but 4 hours to climb the ropes back up from the bottom. The structure of the limestone, makes this area of central China near Wulong an ideal place for formation of giant deep pits like Miao Keng.
